Sightseeing at Jaipur in India.

Apart from pink palaces and excellent forts, Jaipur also has some really nice gardens as well as an interesting Marble Mausoleum to visit.

Relaxing at Jai Niwas Bagh and a quick look at Talkatora Tank - Old City Jaipur, India.

This medium sized park area and gardens is situated beside the Govindji Temple on the northern edge of the Pink City. The gardens and walkways as well as what once must have been excellent water features and channels etc. are being refurbished - the central part is simply of grass with trees round the edges. There is a fenced off childrens play area with swings and so on on one edge. Perhaps of interest for children is a small water tank in one corner of the gardens - during the afternoon monkeys stream in from the adjacent temple and use the tank for cooling off and for some swimming. However take care with these monkeys as some of them can be quite agressive if approached too much. If you leave the gardens by this tank and then turn right and walk along the road for a while you can take a look at Talkatora Tank. This is a quite large water containment area which again once must have looked beautiful however it has been negelected for years and is quite scruffy - but may soon be re-established.
